Appointments. CAPS staff will be providing remote telehealth services (via telephone and Webex video conferencing) to assist in meeting students' mental health needs during the Fall 2020 semester. Purdue's Counseling and Psychological Services now offers single-session appointments from Dec. 2 through Friday. You may schedule an appointment with a board certified PUSH provider by calling 765-496-1700 or through the Patient Portal.. Once I got in though, it was easier to make appointments.

The last time I checked, the waiting period was more than 3 months. I finally got in and started having bi-weekly appointments, but I had to drive a half hour away because all the other therapists close by weren’t taking in new patients.I was diagnosed with major depression and anxiety disorder. Finally went to the IA today, had to talk about all my issues briefly and then they told me they suggest private sessions at CAPS. Waited over a month for an initial assessment at CAPS. An intake appointment is a formal meeting you have with your therapist at CAPS. This is a huge issue Mitch needs to address.This happened to me when I tried to go to CAPS. What do you feel is the general student consensus/opinion on Purdue’s CAPS program? Also I believe that only the first 12 appointments are free (I could be remembering that wrong though).If you're on your parent's healthcare plan you can always check if mental health is covered and then see if any in-network therapists are nearby.While CAPS has hired more staff, including therapists, they are still lacking. However, beware that process is also long.
