Each of the schools featured took an idea from one of Uncle Digby’s stories, and brought the story to life through their paintings. The free family event was a unique opportunity to purchase authentic Indigenous artwork and to meet the makers. The project included a workshop series delivered by Aboriginal artists for Aboriginal communities across the region and sought to improve health outcomes through arts programs designed to promote and share culture”. Arts Northern Rivers’ Aboriginal arts development worker, Mark Cora, describes the exhibition as ‘an opportunity for artists to come together as the Bundjalung nation’.
