We really love the red bark in the winter….Is there a Japanese maple which stays 5’ or less, and needs more shade than sun?Can the Red Dragon Japanese Maple grow in Sarasota, Fl .We live in Austin, Texas near a greenbelt with deer. Slowly reaches about 7 to 15 feet by 5 to 12 feet over 10 years in the landscape; about 5 feet by 4 feet in a container. It would look wonderful to group it with a weeper like ‘Tamukeyama’ and another smaller Japanese maple. Partial shade to partial sun.
